About The Machines

Continental Pipe and Tube Cut-off Machines have earned an enviable reputation for reliability and long service life in manufacturing installations worldwide. Fast, clean, cost-efficient and easy to operate . . . rotary cut-off machines by Continental are capable of making up to 900 cuts per hour! Their unique cutting method of "parting" pipe and tube eliminates waste and saves you money.

Sawing and abrasive-wheel cutting methods waste as much as 1/8" of material on every cut . . . more than a foot of waste every 100 cuts. In Continental’s rotary cut-off technique, a pipe is placed on the machine’s rollers. A rotating cut-off blade is lowered, engaging the outside wall of the material, causing it to spin. As downward pressure is applied, the cut-off blade quickly separates the wall of the spinning pipe or tube, without waste. The rotary cut-off method eliminates waste since it "parts" the material, rather than removing a kerf with each cut. Cutting time is significantly reduced also, since the rotary cut-off blade only passes through the outside wall of the material. With other cutting methods, the blade must travel through the full diameter of the pipe or tube.

Ease of adjustment and set-ups enhance the overall economy of Continental cut-off machines as well. A variety of pipe and tube diameters with various wall thicknesses can be handled efficiently. Continental cut-off machines provide predictable material end conditions for a wide range of applications. This may enable you to combine or eliminate secondary operations to further enhance productivity.

Air-powered models assure consistent results from the first to the last cut, of every production cycle. Continental’s unique "hydrocheck" component enables you to tailor the machine’s performance to the application by making a few simple adjustments. Air-powered models reduce operator fatigue and simplify operation in repetitive production situations.

When production runs are short, cut-off operations intermittent, or frequent changes are required, a manually operated model may be the best alternative.

As you review the capabilities of the Continental rotary cut-off machines described here, note also the variety of options and accessories that can provide even greater efficiency, flexibility and economy for many aspects of your cut-off operations.
